Cooperational work and partners

The search for a suitable unrelated blood stem cell donor for the transplantation of blood stem cells is a difficult process involving various independent organisations, with the ZKRD organising the cooperation among partners.

The ZKRD receives all requests involving national and international patients. By acting as the common contact for all partners involved (transplantation centres, search units and donor centres) the ZKRD simplifies complex processes, which also allows for standardisation and automation of most procedures.

This is advantageous for all parties involved, especially if the donor or patient resides in a foreign country, thus involving overseas partners. To ease communication, the ZKRD staff, which is responsible for international relations, speaks fluent English and often even an additional foreign language.
